Returns Process

HSS CHARGEABLE RETURNS EXTERNAL PROCESS
Return Merchandise Authorisation or Return Material Authorisation (RMA)

STEP 1: CONTACT HSS TO OBTAIN A RETURNS AUTHORISATION NUMBER (HSS_RMA), INSPECTION CHARGE & INSPECTION DATE.
 
Contact Hawker Siddeley Switchgear Ltd Spares, Service & Repair Department by email or using the web site "Chargeable Returns Procedure" contact form or call us on 01495 331023 to obtain a HSS_RMA number & Inspection Charge before returning product. Call between 9:00am and 4:00pm Monday to Thursday.
 
Download the "HSSL Chargeable Returns Investigation Form" here; please note that this document should accompany all goods and an electronic copy sent to returns@hss-ltd.com failure to complete this could delay inspection and/or repair works.

Note: Products returned without an HSS_RMA number will be refused.

STEP 2: PACK THE PRODUCT SECURELY

  1. Pack the Product(s) securely, wrapped or packaged and in an external carton.
  2. Make sure you include a copy of the Packing List with your return.
  3. Make sure you include your name address and a contact telephone number.

STEP 3: ADDRESS CLEARLY & MARK "HSS_RMA” NUMBER ON OUTSIDE OF PACKAGE

Clearly mark the outside of the package or carton with the Hawker Siddeley Switchgear Ltd address, telephone number and HSS_RMA number, as shown below.

STEP 4: SEND YOU’RE PACKAGE, CARRIAGE & INSURANCE PAID TO - Spares, Service & Repair Department, Hawker Siddeley Switchgear Ltd

The customer is responsible for all shipping charges for products returned under our Returns Procedure unless this has been specifically agreed and confirmed in advance. HSS will not accept responsibility for loss or damage of goods during return, please make sure that the insurance cover option is taken with the courier service provider.

On shipment of goods please email Purchase Order to the value of the Inspection Charge given in step one to returns@hss-ltd.com in order for your returns to be inspected.

Please note that this payment will be 100% proforma invoice unless already agreed with HSS.
 
**NOTE: HAWKER SIDDELEY SWITCHGEAR LTD ASSUMES NO LIABILITY FOR LOSS OR DAMAGED IN TRANSIT**

STEP 5: ON RECEIPT AT HSS - PRODUCTS WILL BE INSPECTED

Upon receipt, all products will be inspected; our Spares, Service and Repair Department will advise you on the chargeable repairs needed to repair the goods.

Which can include parts, labour & test costs’

Note: 
  1. Packages without an HSS_RMA number on the outside will be refused.
  2. Incomplete packages will not be accepted.
  3. Please make sure the goods are insured during transit.
Note: FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THE PROCEDURE OUTLINED ABOVE WILL RESULT IN THE REFUSAL OF RETURNED GOODS
 
Note: IF WE DO NOT RECEIVE AN OFFICIAL PURCHASE ORDER WITHIN 30 CALENDAR DAYS OF THE DATE OF THIS ESTIMATE / QUOTATION, YOU WILL BE INVOICED FOR THE RETURN OF THE UNIT IN AN UNREPAIRED STATE. IF PAYMENT IS NOT RECEIVED, THE UNIT WILL BE PLACED IN STORAGE AND THEN DISPOSED OF LOCALLY.

STEP 6: THE REPAIR

Once the product has been inspected a member of the Spares, Service & Repair Department will inform you of our findings and advise/detail the additional chargeable cost applicable to repair the goods.
 
Once you have received the new quotation a PO must be authorised for the repair to take place. Once this has been submitted a date will then be given where the repair work will allocated into our production schedule.
 
Note: Repair times are from booking into the service centre and do not include query time. Third party parts shortages are outside of the control of Hawker Siddeley Switchgear Ltd and can delay the repair process. We will inform you of any delays in advance.

STEP 7: RETURN DELIVERY

Once the goods are repaired a member of the Spares & Service Department will contact you to arrange delivery, please note this can be EXW or chargeable.
